Mother Made Strength Training

Mother Made Strength Training is a 60-minute small-group class dedicated to full-body strength. Each class is built around two to three lower-body lifts and two to three upper-body lifts, using body weight, pulleys, dumbbells and barbells.

It is for women who are pregnant, recovering from pregnancy, or years postpartum. The programming is written by a physical therapist with post-doctorate education in obstetrics and perinatal care, so it makes sense for your body right now.

Is it safe to lift weights while pregnant?

For most pregnancies, yes. Classes are programmed by a physical therapist trained in prenatal and postpartum care, and every movement can be adjusted. Check with your provider if you have been told to limit exercise.

How soon after birth can I start?

That depends on your recovery and your provider’s guidance. Reach out and we will talk through where you are and the best way to begin.

I am years postpartum. Is this still for me?

Yes. Whether you are pregnant, a few months out or seven years postpartum, the program helps you build lasting strength safely.

Do I need strength training experience?

No. Many members are new to lifting. Your coach teaches every movement and adjusts the weight and exercise to where you are right now.

What does a class look like?

A 60-minute full-body session: a warm-up, two to three lower-body lifts and two to three upper-body lifts, with coaching throughout.

How big are the classes?

Small. Groups are capped at 10 women, so you get real coaching on your form while still training with a supportive group.

What if I have pelvic floor symptoms or diastasis?

Tell your coach. Programming is physical-therapy informed, and 1-on-1 physical therapy with Dr. Rachel is available if you need more support first.

How many classes a month should I take?

Memberships come in 4, 8 or 12 classes a month. Your coach can help you pick the one that fits your schedule and recovery.
